TIME TO GO ASA NORTHWEST TOUR RACING
March 21, 2007
It is hard to believe, but the series that look DOA a year ago is very much alive and well. The first edition of the ASA Northwest tour is promising to be an exciting new adventure. There are eight races scheduled at five different tracks.

Through the help of many different individuals, we are putting the pieces into place. Thanks to Rich Clark from Spokane we now have a web site, www.asanorthwesttour.com. The Kelly Tanner family and another business that wishes to remain unnamed, have each pledged $5000.00 toward a yearend point fund. We hope to attract at least two more pledges to get the point fund to $20,000.00. If you or any of your associates would like to help in this effort, please contact us. Total Power Racing Batteries and Five Star are helping with contingencies. Tanner Racing Products by Mittler Bros. are supplying us with scales and ramps. We are working on more companies, but at this late date most companies have already committed their budget for 2007. We look forward to getting these kinds of arrangements done early for the 2008 season.

Many of the old Tour officials will be returning to help with a smooth transition. Jim Mikelson will head up the officials. We are working on the same flagman, scoring, and teching that you have all come to expect from this kind of tour.

We want to thank all of the racers and crews for their expected support in 2007. This program will only succeed if all parties continue to work together for the long-term success of the ASA Northwest Tour. We are aware that all of us will be asked to make sacrifices, but the long term looks very bright. We have received many calls of encouragement and support in the past few weeks.

ASA license forms have been sent out. If you have not received one, or need more, please contact our office. Cost is $125.00 for drivers and owners. Crews have the option of joining for $85.00 or buying a temporary one day license for $10.00, on the day of the event. The temporary license will cover the crew for the added insurance. License applications should be sent directly to ASA as soon as possible. A hard ASA license will be sent directly to you. Please join as soon as possible.

If you or any of your associates have anything they can contribute to our efforts, please contact us.

We are committed to making the ASA Northwest Tour the premier touring series on the West coast.

We are all looking forward to an exciting, professional touring season, with our eye on the goal of a locally run series that knows and believes in the touring teams in the Northwest.
